Hidden away in the midst of the idyllic wooded hills of the Perche, the château of La Barre is progressively unfolding its history. For centuries, its parkland has protected it from all noise and disturbance, and it now emerges as a historical haven. Although, having born witness to the Hundred Years War, the Religion Wars, and the vicissitudes of the French Revolution, it could tell countless tales, it delights most in extolling with joy a preserved way of life.
Today, the Count and Countess de Vanssay, twenty generations of the same family, in the same location, open up their abode to you; an abode where the rooms amalgamate both elegance and authenticity on the one hand, and comfort and modernity on the other. The living rooms, adorned with portraits of various family ancestors, rival with elegance, and almost eloquence, the great Dining Room, a veritable chef d'oeuvre of the 18th century, complete with the monumental dresser and exquisite china collection
