Our Story

With a passion for great food and 5* service, the George and Abbotsford Hotel aims to provide the ideal setting for every occasion whether you are looking for a short break away, a chilled drink and tasty meal or the perfect place to host your next big event.

Under new management since November 2018, the former coaching inn in the heart of Melrose is now home to a bustling listed building which plays a key part in the local community as an avid supporter of the historic Melrose Sevens. Eye-catching rugby memorabilia is proudly displayed in the bar area.
