The Achilleion Municipality consists of 14 villages and is situated at the center of the island. It adjoins the Municipality of Corfu Town, and is the second most populated region of the island. It is one of the most cosmopolitan areas in the island, offering countless options for a night out or for dining, either in an expensive restaurant or in a traditional tavern. In the area there are facilities that cater for every need and taste whether this is a sunny beach and the crystal clear sea or the majestic view from a mountaintop after an exciting trekking expedition.
The mountain terrain and the scenic natural environment of the region with its rich flora and fauna favor the development of ecotourism and trekking, which is planned all over the Municipality. Several of its villages are built on the mountainsides and offer fantastic mountain routes. You can also relax and enjoy the sea and sun in the numerous beaches of the island, in Ai Gordi, Benitses and Perama.
