The Island

Timanfaya National Park
The majestic Timanfaya National Park covers nearly a third of the area of Lanzarote, and was designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, along with the rest of the island in 1993.
Although the vast majority of the park is strictly regulated to protect rare flora and fauna, the flagship resort built by Cesar Manrique in the Islet of Hilario offers scenic bus tours and entertaining demonstrations of volcanic activity on the islands.
