Le Moulin de Pommeuse
Le Moulin de Pommeuse was one of nine mills in the village.
In the surrounding villages are also several.
Some fuller, more oil, most molded grain. In the 19th century one of them was transformed by Etienne de Montgolfier to manufacture paper.
The mill produced flour Pommeuse. Its origins are uncertain, it is known, however, a confession made in June 1400 that there was in the 14th century. This admission shows that the Duke was dOrléans the full fee and collecting 25 livres a year.
He belonged at that time a large property with castle, farms, land in a state of meadows, woods and vineyards also. He was subject to rights talk. During the Revolution the castle was destroyed, the Moulin confiscated and sold as national property.
He then became property of General Huerne.
Later, the family Delaplace operating over several generations. Significant improvements were made to him. The mill Pommeuse became a first-class establishment, with the latest enhancements in grain milling.
In September 1967, while other mills in the village had gone out of business as Mill Pommeuse stopped. They were replaced by larger structures, often located closer to the big market Parisien.
