The Downe Arms is a traditional North Yorkshire Country inn, sitting on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and yet only 6 miles from the coast at Scarborough.  This building is a 17th Century former farmhouse and forms part of ther Dawney Estate which has been in existence for hundreds of years.

We have a traditional bar with oak beams where you can drink both fine cask ales from all over the UK and international wines.  In the restaurant a wonderful open fire burns during the colder months and here you can choose from a menu which includes both local dishes and international cuisine.

We have 10 very individual en suite bedrooms, some with sumptuous Georgian windows, others with low beams and lovely arched windows.  Most of them have wonerful views over the charming village of Wykeham.

The Downe Arms boast a large conference and function centre with two main rooms both able to hold over 100 people.  With its large car park and excellent facilities it is an adeal venue for conferences, weddings, parties and celebrations of all types.

With the Moors on our doorstep, a championship golf course 10 minutes away, the Wykeham fishing lakes next door, the coast six miles to the East our location is just perfect for a relaxing break.  Perfect for walking, cycling, fishing, golfing, sight seeing and much more!
