QUINTA DO CABOUCO

It was built in the 18th century, restored and enlarged in 2003 with care to maintain it´s old look. Lovingly decorated its a feast to your eyes and comprises three bedrooms (a suite and two double bedrooms) each with it´s own private and toilet facilities. All bedrooms have a wonderful sea view. An extra bed (sofa for a child or a cradle)can also be provided upon prior request. Further facilities on the property include a large and beautiful living-room with fireplace and television with 30 channels, including German, French, Spanish and English (CNN and BBC World, for example), a common guest kitchen, which is annexed to another large common living area, sunny varandahs and the most awesome sunset vantage point. Parking area is also available and a garden, where, guests are allowed to pick organic fruits and vegetables for their own consumption.

Quinta do Cabouco is an agro-biological farm, licensed by the local Tourism Authority as being one of the best houses of Habitation Tourism. Actually, it´s a real home from home with all it´s particular attention to detail and comfort. Located on a hill, overlooking Ribeira Brava, Lugar de Baixo, Ponta do Sol and the widespread of the blue ocean, where sunsets are incomparable, is just in the middle of the sunny coast, which permits you being in mere 20 minutes whether you go to Funchal or to Calheta beach. Access to every other part of the Island is quick an easy due to the new tunnels. Although being situated in the countryside, it stays, however, close enough to modern amenities such as restaurants, pharmacies,shopping, police and the all important beaches.

Quinta do Cabouco is one of the sunniest and most comfortable places to live, in terms of weather condition.

For those who like to do walks, the property is near to Levada do Norte, the waterway after Cabo Girão until Boa Morte, which is easy and safe. On this walk you will be able to admire cultivated farmlands. Make sure you take the time to notice how hard it is for local farmers to get around their crops and lands. From Cabo Girão until Quinta do Cabouco it lasts about three hours. It´s also easy to reach Encumeada where you can visit and walk in the Laurissilva Forest, classified by Unesco as being Heritage of Mankind Natural Reserve.
